Short-Term Mobility Project for a Group of 20 Polish Students in Avezzano

BZDZ, the short form for Bydgoski Zakład Doskonalenia Zawodowego Stowarzyszenie Oświatowo-Techniczne, Number 2018-1-PL01-KA102-048892, has closely collaborated with AMFI International for the project 'PRAKTYKI INACZEJ' , sending 20 highschool students for a short-term mobility experience to Avezzano, Italy.

This January, AMFI had the unique chance to welcome a group of twenty high-school students from Poland to participate in a three-weeks traineeship at three local companies (Italsav,Sabatini SRL, Abruzzo Distribuzione). During the three weeks students had the opportiunity to peak into the Italian lifestyle and (working) culture, as well as to develop applied knowledge in the area of Logistics.

The project is part of a European-funded VET mobility scheme exclusively running in Poland. Previous the actual mobility period, three local companies have been carefully selected to host the students and provide them with suitable professional experience. These companies are important players on the Italian distribution market, especially for the region of Abruzzo, therfore the quality of the experience is implied. The students had the chance to work in various departments, from accountancy to inventory activities to actual distribution.

Upon arrival, students have been warmly welcomed at the airport and escorted to their accomodation facilities by AMFI staff. On the first official day of the mobility program, as the protocol entails, the students attended an official 'welcome meeting' where they received all the important information they need for a pleasant stay. The first week is ussually the hardest. Being exposed to a new culture is not easy, especially in terms of communication. Even so, with over 10 years experience and a multilingual staff, AMFI is always ready to save the day. Adjustments were made here and there and by the end of the week everyone was happy.

A full experience is not complete without including some quality leisure time. For the weekend, a trip to Rome was organized. The tour was carefully thought through to include all the landmarks of The Eternal city. As Rome was not built in a day, it cannot be visited in a day, but flexibility is key and when was the case, the tour was adjusted to fit the wishes of the guests.

At the moment, the students have one week and a half left to enjoy everything Italy has to offer. Stay updated!
